The Lost Ring / Der verlorene Ring
Lessing’s Ring Parable reflected by 5 directors and 10 actors from 6 countries

The Ring Parable, as one central aspect of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing’s play Nathan

the Wise poses the question which of the three monotheistic religions – Judaism,

Christianity, Islam – is the right and real one.

Lessing’s Solomonic answer is up-to-date and leads to the following questions:

In what do we believe? Do we believe in other people’s freedom? Has tolerance

come to an end? How open and open-minded is our society?

Five mixed teams, each composed of one director and two actors, create five mini

dramas based on the Ring Parable – five theatric comments from different points of
